Investigations continue into allegations of the theft of machinery from Aberdeen City Council.
Last week it emerged that expensive road construction machinery is believed to have been stolen from a council site earlier this month and that a police probe had been launched.
A police spokeswoman yesterday confirmed that their enquires are ongoing into the matter.
A council source alleges that the equipment was taken by a senior manager who then attempted to sell it at auction.
It’s understood the machinery was worth thousands of pounds.
A council spokeswoman said that the matter was now in the hands of police and declined to comment further.
