The alarm was raised at 11am this morning with the fire service sending one appliance to the nature reserve. A spokeswoman for the SFRS said: “We received the call at 11am and we have one appliance from Altens fire station in attendance. “The team have used a hose reel jet and knapsacks to dampen the area and ferried water from a nearby water hydrant. “Some hotspots have been located.” Grass fires have plagued The Gramps, with fire services deployed to the area three times earlier this week.
