The incident took place at around 9.35am. Local residents were unable to enter the shop, thought to be Tillydrone Pharmacy, while police secured the scene. Chantelle Ewing, from Aberdeen, had attempted to pick up a prescription during the incident. She said: “I never got in and had to go to a different chemist. “I tried to get information but the police wouldn’t say anything to me on why I couldn’t get in. “There were two police cars and a police man on the door.” A police spokeswoman said: “A man has been arrested in relation to an alleged attempted robbery at a shop in the Hayton Road area. “Enquiries are ongoing.” More to follow.
