A north-east man who was missing for nearly two weeks has been traced safe and well.
Wayne MacMillan was reported missing on September 7, and last seen leaving a bus near Brodie Countryfare in Moray on September 8.
His disappearance prompted intensive searches of land for the 45-year-old Aberdeen man across Moray, Inverness and the north-east.
Officers were alerted to a potential sighting of Mr MacMillan in the Forres area earlier today.
Detective Inspector Allen Shaw, who has been leading inquiries, said: “Searches have been ongoing for a number of days now in the Brodie area, where Wayne was last seen, and during that time numerous people have been in touch with information and potential sightings.
“I would like to sincerely thank everyone who has contacted the police for your support and in particular the member of the public who provided us with information today that resulted in Wayne being traced safe and well.”
