A man has appeared in court facing ten charges of using counterfeit money in shops in Aberdeen.
Pawel Kiszczak is accused of handing over a variety of £20 and £50 notes from both the Bank of England and the Bank of Scotland at stores on Garthdee Road, Union Street, George Street and Rosemount Place and elsewhere between last August and September this year.
He is also accused of having a counterfeit £50 note at his home on Stockethill Court.
The 33-year-old appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court where he denied all charges against him.
He will return to court in December.
Sergeant Doug MacKay of the City Centre Community Policing Team said people who believe they have received counterfeit notes should contact officers.
He added: “Deliberately making, possessing and attempting to use couterfeit currency is a serious offence and we will thoroughly investigate any instances reported to us.
“If you suspect you have received a counterfeit note or you have any concerns, we would urge you to contact police on 101.”
