Fire crews were again called to Aberdeen’s Gramps area yesterday in response to yet another gorse fire.
Firefighters responded at about 1pm to extinguish the small fire in the Torry area of the city, which has been plagued with fires for almost three weeks.
The latest incident was over within an hour.
Firefighters have been called to the area more than 30 times since September 7 to tackle grass and gorse fires.
On Tuesday, 18-year-old Ryan Smith was remanded in custody after appearing at Aberdeen Sheriff Court where he was charged with four counts of wilful fireraising.
He made no plea.
Inspector Chris Kerr of the Torry community policing team urged anyone with information to get in touch and said: “We are very grateful for the information that we have received from members of the public so far.
“I would urge anyone who has encountered any suspicious activity in the area to contact us on 101.”
