The volunteer crews were alerted shortly before 12.30pm after it emerged police were engaged in a search for someone from Cove. The city’s relief Severn class all-weather lifeboat Beth Sell and the D-class inshore lifeboat James Bisset Simpson were then put to sea. After a three hour search crews were informed by officers that the missing person had been found onshore.
