Police have launched an inquiry following the incident.
A 51-year-old woman has been taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary after being struck by a car in Banchory. The female pedestrian is currently being treated for serious injuries.
The incident involving a black Nissan Qashqai, happened on High Street in the town around 5pm yesterday.
Police are appealing for witnesses and asking anyone with information to come forward.
Sergeant Rob Warnock, from the Inverurie Road Policing Unit, said: “Enquiries into the circumstances of the incident are at an early stage.
“I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or saw the black Nissan Qashqai or the female pedestrian prior to the incident to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident number PS-20181009-2666.”
The occupants of the car, including the 48-year-old male driver, were uninjured.
