A north-east man who ordered cannabis from the United States so he could enjoy himself over Christmas has been ordered to carry out unpaid work.
The Parcelforce National Hub in Coventry intercepted a package intended for Craig Ross on December 6 last year.
It was found to contain 110 grams of the drug, prompting police officers to pay a visit to Ross’ home on Esslemont Circle in Ellon on January 6 this year.
They discovered a second haul of cannabis at the property.
Ross confessed to ordering the cannabis and being in possession of the drug during an appearance in Aberdeen Sheriff Court yesterday.
Representing him, defence agent Neil McRobert said his client had paid £650 for the package from the United States.
He said: “He explained in his interview with the police it was for his own use to have at Christmas in 2017.”
Sheriff Graeme Buchanan ordered the 19-year-old to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work.
