A teenager is in a serious condition in hospital after colliding with a car.
Police were called to the crash on the B994 Kintore to Kemnay road near Upper Cottown at about 5.40pm on Saturday.
The collision involved a black Seat Leon car and a black Honda motor scooter.
The 19-year-old rider of the scooter was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary in a serious condition.
The occupants of the car suffered minor injuries.
Sergeant Peter Henderson, of the road policing unit said: “Our thoughts at this time are with those involved and their families. An investigation into the collision is under way and we have already spoken to a number of witnesses.
“In order to help establish the cause of the collision I would urge anyone who saw either vehicle prior to the collision or the collision itself and who has not already come forward to get in touch.
“Likewise if any motorists believe they may have dashcam footage which could assist our inquiries I appeal to them to come forward.”
The crash came just weeks after a woman had to be cut free from her car after it skidded off the same road into a wall.
She was treated for minor hip and knee injuries after her car crashed into the wall, near Craigmyle Cottages, on October 1.
