A man has appeared in court in the wake of robberies at two bookmakers in Aberdeen earlier this month.
Police were called to the Coral on Foresterhill Road on Monday October 15 and the William Hill shop at Summerhill Court two days later after reports of disturbances.
Kevin Bruce appeared in Aberdeen Sheriff Court yesterday charged with an attempted theft, assault by theft and robbery, assault and robbery, attempting to open a lockfast place and three incidents of shoplifting.
The 36-year-old, from Aberdeen, made no plea and was remanded in custody ahead of a second appearance next week.
And police confirmed last night that another man, aged 38, had been arrested in connection with the two incidents.
Detective Sergeant Mike Reynolds said: “I would like to thank those who have provided information and shared our earlier appeals.
“I would also like to thank both communities where these incidents took place for your patience while enquiries have been carried out.
“These enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information can still contact police on 101.”
Information can also be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
