A truck driver has been charged with careless driving following a crash involving a police motorbike at a busy Aberdeen roundabout.
The flatbed truck and bike collided at the Haudagain roundabout at about 11.40am on Wednesday.
The 47-year-old lorry driver has now been charged and will appear in court at a later date.
It is understood that the officer was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary suffering a broken leg.
Huge queues of traffic built up in all directions around the notorious bottleneck roundabout following the crash.
One commuter described tailbacks for about two miles in the direction of Bucksburn, along the A96 Aberdeen to Inverness road.
Another frustrated motorist said the trip between the two spots took her about 30 minutes as police officers carefully guided traffic past the scene of the incident.
