A man was taken to hospital last night after becoming stuck in a “swamp area” at an Aberdeen park and needing to be rescued by the emergency services.
Fire crews from North Anderson Drive were summoned to Seaton Park shortly after 10pm amid reports that a man had gotten into difficulties while crossing a marshy part of the expanse.
Water rescue teams from the city’s Central Station, and Kingsway in Dundee, were called to perform a “mud rescue”.
However, the Dundee crew was stood down as they were on their way as it became clear that local units had things under control.
A spokeswoman for the service described the section of the park in question as a “swamp area”.
She added: “There was a person stuck within wet grass, and we managed to get them out.”
The man was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary after being found “very cold.”
An ambulance spokesperson said: “We received a call at 10.47pm on Monday 29 October to attend an incident at Seaton Park in Aberdeen.
“Two specialist operations teams and an ambulance was dispatched to the scene and one male patient was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.”
