Redevelopment work will begin at the Aberdeen Science Centre soon.
The centre will undergo a £4.7 million makeover at its Constitution Street base.
The facility’s size will be doubled and will allow for an increased number of education programmes and events for young science enthusiasts.
The centre will close its doors on November 11 and move to a temporary location at 107 George Street – where it will re-open to the public on November 19.
The refurbishment of the Constitution Street site, which includes new interactive exhibits, is due to be complete by 2020.
Dr Lesley Glasser founded the Satrosphere Science Centre in 1989.
Liz Hodge, chief executive of the science centre, said: “Every single member of our team has a passion to inspire a lifelong interest in science by creating engaging experiences and are all looking forward to welcoming our existing visitors as well as those who may not have visited us before.”
Aberdeen Science Centre will close its doors for a week
