Police are investigating reports that a 20-year-old woman was sexually assaulted in Aberdeen.
Officers were called to Diamond Lane, in the Golden Square area of the city, at around 3.30am yesterday.
The narrow lane, which links Diamond Street and South Silver Street, was cordoned off for much of the day as inquiries got under way.
An officer stood guard in the narrow lane, which provides access to the back doors of a number of restaurants, shops and offices on both Union Street and Golden Square.

It is not thought that the woman was injured or that she needed any medical treatment.
Officers said that the 20-year-old was “safely with the police” after she had reported what happened.
They are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
Local councillor Jenny Laing urged night-time revellers to be aware of their personal safety.
She said: “It’s obviously very worrying whenever you hear about instances like this.
“I hope that anyone who has information about what happened comes forward and that the victim can make a full recovery.”
Dustin Macdonald, chairman of Aberdeen City Centre Community Council, said: “It is never good to hear about things of this nature happening in our city or anywhere else.
“I hope that the police are able to move forward with their investigation quickly and swiftly for all those concerned.”
Last night a police spokeswoman said: “A 20-year-old female has reported a sexual assault during the early hours of November 1.
“Inquiries are at an early stage and the public are thanked for their patience while Diamond Lane was closed.”
