An Aberdeenshire charity has been shortlisted for the 2018 Scottish Care Awards.
The Bungalow, a residential learning disability service, has been nominated in the Specialist Service category at the Scottish Care Awards 2018.
The care team from The Bungalow, based at Crossreach in Stonehaven, will be invited to a prestigious evening awards ceremony next week.
The Specialist Service award celebrates a unit that delivers services sensitive to the needs of older people with dementia, other specialist conditions or client groups.
The Bungalow was nominated by service unit manager Kathleen Keith.
She said: “The service concentrates on making a positive difference to the lives of five individuals with profound and multiple learning difficulties, non-verbal communication and complex health needs – as well as their extended families.
“The service understands the benefit of being part of the wider community, and has received, invitations to speak about our service at Rotary and Guild meetings. The service is also involved in fundraising for external charities and organisations.”
The awards ceremony will be held on November 16 at the Hilton Hotel in Glasgow, and will be hosted by Michelle McManus.
