A man has been treated for smoke inhalation after a discarded cigarette caused a fire within an city centre property.
Three fire crews attended the blaze that started in a second floor flat on Allan Street at around 2.31am this morning.
Police also attended with ambulance services treating a man for smoke inhalation.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue spokeswoman said: “The fire broke out at a flat on Allan Street in Aberdeen city centre at 2.31am.
“Three fire appliances attended the blaze including using breathing apparatus, hose reel jets, a thermal imaging camera and a fan to put extinguish the fire.”
Emergency services left the property at 4.14am.
A police spokeswoman said: “We received the call at 2.22am after reports of smoke coming from a property on Allan Street.
“It is believed the fire was started due to a discarded cigarette withing the property.”
