A major search has been launched for a missing Aberdeenshire man.
Specialist police search officers, mountain rescue teams, a dog unit and helicopter were all involved in the search for 35-year-old Andrew Gregory yesterday.
He was reported missing from the Ballater area at about 9am.
His vehicle was later found in a car park in the Cambus O’May area just off the A93, near Mr Gregory’s home town of Ballater.
The Cambus O’May forest is popular with hillwalkers and hikers, with various levels of trails available from the car park entrance.
Despite an extensive search in the surrounding area, police have been unable to trace Mr Gregory, who is originally from Aberdeen, and are appealing to the public to assist with their enquiries.
Mr Gregory is around 6ft tall, described as having an athletic build and red/brown coloured hair.
A police spokesman said: “Anyone with information about Andrew’s whereabouts is asked to contact Police on 101 as soon as possible.
“We would also appeal to Andrew to get in touch as soon as possible if he sees this appeal to let us know he is safe and well.”
