A spokesperson for Traffic Scotland said: “Wind gusts of 60mph are expected, with some more exposed locations seeing 70mph gusts. “Later in the day, gusts of 70-75mph are expected to become more frequent across Shetland, where sustained wind speeds could reach 60mph. “The strong winds will also bring some rough seas and large waves, with some coastal impacts possible. “Winds will moderate across the south of the warning area by evening and then across remaining parts overnight.” Meanwhile, heavy rain is expected in Aberdeenshire tomorrow with a yellow warning being issued for between 12pm and 11pm. The Met Office said: “Heavy rain in northeastern Scotland on Wednesday. “This may lead to travel disruption and flooding in a few places.”
