A generous donation has inspired a 31-day programme of festive fun for people who use Archway’s Two Mile Cross Respite Unit.
The Aberdeen-based charity offers residential respite and permanent care and a range of services for almost 200 children and adults with learning disabilities in Aberdeen and throughout the Aberdeenshire area.
Mandy Innes and Chris Watson donated £500 to the Two Mile Cross Respite Unit, which Ms Innes’ daughter attends for respite breaks.
Staff at the unit created a special Advent Calendar and Treasure Hunt, with daily clues leading to a hidden envelope containing a prize.
Throughout the month, a mixture of activities, treats and gifts have been organised at the unit, including a trip to the pantomime, take away fish and chips, a pamper night, a trip to the Christmas market and a movie night.
Wendy Watson, manager at Two Mile Cross said: “The staff have been fantastic organising everything and coming up with lots of lovely ideas that they know everyone will enjoy.
“And we decided to do it the whole of December to spread the fun even further.
“We just can’t wait for Saturday to see everyone’s reactions and we would just like to thank Mandy and Chris for making it all possible.”
