McDonald’s and Starbucks have announced plans to open new drive-thrus close to the Dons’ new Kingsford Stadium.
The giants intent to move into the Arnhall Business Park in Westhill, just a stone’s throw from where the new football ground will be.
A spokesman for McDonald’s said that, if permission was granted, 65 new jobs would be created.
He said the fast food chain looked forward to working with the local authority on the project.
It is understood McDonald’s has submitted a planning document with Aberdeenshire Council for the restaurant, but it has not yet been validated by the authority.
Starbucks has also lodged plans to build a cafe and drive-thru just one unit over. It has been on the market for 12 years.
The unit was up for sale from 2006 until September this year when it was acquired by the coffee giant.
According to a report submitted with the application by Lippe Architects, the site would operate 24 hours a day and create at least 20 jobs.
