Diversions are in place and there are severe delays between Kincardine O’Neil and Aboyne.
Members of the public have been asked to avoid the area.
A fire spokesman said: “We are currently in attendance at a crash on the A93.
“We have two appliances and are assisting police.”
Councillor Peter Argyle, who represents the Aboyne, Upper Deeside and Donside ward, revealed that the stretch of road can be particularly dangerous in winter months.
He said: “There have been a number of accidents there throughout the years, and the council later implemented up putting electronic Slow Down signs on the stretch as a result.
“My thoughts go out to those involved.
“It is always awful to hear of an accident and I hope that all involved make a full recovery.”
