Services are being held again at Aberdeen Crematorium after a £1 million refurbishment.
The works included replacing the existing entrance and reception area, new disabled toilets, a new digital media system which will allow images and music during services, and a complete redecoration of both chapels.
Also included are a new reception area, a new area for the book of remembrance, refurbishment of toilets, entrance and departure halls as well as external improvements.
There is new flooring and seating in both chapels, new lighting, refurbishment of catafalques and lecterns in both chapels and the repair of the ventilation system in the chapels.
In October it emerged that the work had been delayed by a month.
The chapel closed in May but the work was delayed for four weeks due to ground conditions out of the city council’s control.

Last night council operational delivery committee convener John Wheeler said: “This has been an important project and it has been completed with care and attention to detail.
“We would like to thank people for their patience in using other venues while the work has taken place and we would also like to thank other local churches and crematoria for their help during the refurbishments.”
Staff at the facility have been receiving training for the new digital media system while testing for the equipment has also been taking place.
Funeral directors and officiates were also shown around the refurbished facility prior to its re-opening on Monday.
Cremations have continued at the site but hundreds of services have moved to other sites during the work.
Hazlehead, Queens Cross and Countesswells councillor Jennifer Stewart said: “I’m pleased that the work has been completed and I hope that t gives confidence to those that use the service.
“Death is always a sensitive issue and the crematorium is a place of solemnity.”
