A woman has been charged with allegedly driving at more than three times the drink drive limit in Aberdeen.
Police stopped the car in the Forest Avenue area of the city yesterday morning during routine patrols.
The 36-year-old was subsequently charged and will appear in court at a later date.
A post on the police Facebook page said: “North East Division has a a zero-tolerance approach to drink driving and those whose choose to do so face a mandatory disqualification, substantial fines and run the risk of having their vehicle seized.
“We repeatedly issue warnings throughout the year of the dangers and the festive period is no exception.”
Road Policing Inspector Neil Morrison said: “Christmas and New Year are times of celebration and an opportunity to socialise with friends and family and of course I expect people to go out and enjoy themselves.
“But I would also expect everyone to do this safely and responsibly.
“The only way to be 100% sure you are fit to drive is not to drink any alcohol at all.”
