A north-east man stalked his former partner and waited outside her place of working causing her to have to leave through the back door out of fear.
Maciej Medrek was in a relationship with Lucia Kubikova for three years they separated in October.
At the end of that month she left his home and moved into Woolmanhill Halls of Residence at Robert Gordon University.
Throughout the month of November Medrek made repeated efforts to contact her on social media until she blocked him.
He then waited outside her work at the H&M clothes store on Union Street.
In a terrified state Miss Kubikova told her manger and was let out through the back door.
At 10pm on November 30 people were standing outside her student accommodation block when they saw Medrek loitering outside.
He later rang her buzzer but she thought it was him and did not answer.
She phoned her parents who told her to contact the police.
Officers were sent to the area and found Miss Kubikova in a distressed state.
Medrek confessed to stalking between November 1 and December 1 this year during an appearance at Aberdeen Sheriff Court yesterday.
Representing the 21-year-old, defence agent John Ferry said: “He is a first time offender.
“When he was interviewed by the police he said would be fair to say it was threatening he said yes.
“He said he was overwhelmed and acted in an unusual manner.”
Fiscal depute Sally Mcauley asked for a non-harassment order to be imposed but Sheriff Margaret Hodge refused this request.
She said: “I think it is appropriate to defer sentence for you to be of good behaviour.”
She ordered Medrek, of Tillydrone Court, to stay away from his former partner, her place or work and her address.
He will return to court in March.
