Two men have appeared in court after numerous businesses in the north-east were targeted by thieves in the last two weeks.
Steven Whyte, 27, and Steven Lockhart, 44, appeared in Aberdeen Sheriff Court yesterday facing a string of charges.
Whyte was accused of stealing copper from an industrial premises in Colpy, theft by housebreaking at Craigmile Plumbing in Inverurie and the theft of metal from Kintore.
He was alleged to have carried out a housebreaking with intent to steal at Odfjell Drilling at Crawpeel Road.
Prosecutors have also charged him with driving dangerously, without insurance and while disqualified.
Lockhart was charged with theft by housebreaking from a residential property at Bedford Road.
The pair, both from Aberdeen, made no plea and were remanded in custody.
They are expected to return to court next week.
Following their appearance, Detective Sergeant George Nixon urged people who see “unusual or suspicious” incidents to contact the police.
He said: “We are grateful to members of the public who assisted us while inquiries were carried out.
“We rely on the support of our communities and continue to urge anyone who sees anything unusual or suspicious to contact us as soon as possible with as much information including any descriptions of people or vehicles.
