A north-east man who threatened to disclose intimate images of a woman has been ordered to carry out unpaid work.
Liam Hay messaged the woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, on March 10 this year.
The 19-year-old threatened his victim with violence, telling her he would put a brick through her face.
And he later telephoned her to threaten to disclose naked images of her for all to see on Facebook.
The woman in question told him she would contact the police and blocked him before contacting officers to report Hay’s actions.
Hay confessed to uttering threats of violence and threatening to disclose intimate images during an earlier appearance in Aberdeen Sheriff Court, where he returned yesterday to be sentenced.
Representing the teenager, defence agent Stuart Beveridge said: “He is a young man and a first offender.
“He admitted to the police what he had done.”
Mr Beveridge added that his client had no real intention of making the images in question public.
Sheriff Ian Walker ordered Hay, of Tollomill in Fortrie, to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work.
