An Aberdeenshire woman is planning to cut off her long locks to raise enough money for her church to get a new toilet.
Amanda Murray from Insch will brave the shave next month in aid of three causes close to her heart.
The 32-year-old has been growing out her hair for many years, and it now reaches her lower back.
But rather than dreading the impending change, she is relishing the opportunity.
“I’m actually really excited,” Miss Murray said. “I’ve been thinking about doing it for a few years.”
“I’m going to donate my hair to the Little Princess Trust who will use it to make wigs, and I will give half of the money to Oyne Church to upgrade the toilets.
“The rest will go to Huntly Cats Protection. I got a cat from them and that pay for all his medical bills so I wanted to give something back to them.”
Miss Murray has dropped sponsorship forms at a number of her local businesses, including Flair Hair where staff will shave her head on January 4, so that people can pledge money to the causes.
