A north-east teenager has been locked up for taking part in a pre-arranged brawl during which another man was zapped in the head with a taser disguised as a mobile phone.
The 17-year-old, who can not be named for legal reasons, appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on remand from the Polmont Young Offenders Institute yesterday.
The court heard that the accused, along with two friends, arranged to meet another teenager and 22-year-old Irvine Grant for a fight at Clerkhill Primary School in Peterhead on August 27 last year.

Fiscal, Jamie Dunbar, said: “That summer a friend of the accused came into possession of a device which looked like a gold iPhone but which was a taser.
“On August 26, the group assembled at the home of the accused and consumed alcohol whilst passing the taser around.
“Later, the accused sent a message to one of the complainers challenging him to a fight amid on ongoing feud, and ultimately agreed to meet at the school.”
CCTV captured the parties arriving at the building at about 2am, with a fight promptly breaking out.
The fiscal added: “The taser was discharged against the back of Mr Grant’s head and when his associate attempted to kick the device away it discharged against his leg.”
The accused admitted assaulting Mr Grant and the other teenager, “while acting with others”.
Court papers said the complainers were repeatedly struck on the head and body with a baton, kicked and punched and that a “stun gun was discharged” against Mr Grant’s head.
The accused also pleaded guilty to assaulting the other complainer by repeatedly punching him on the head and body “while acting with others”.
The two co-accused were ordered to carry out unpaid work when they appeared in the dock in July.
Defence agent, Ian Jane, conceded that there was “no prospect” of his client being spared detention due to subsequent separate charges levelled against him.
Sheriff Buchanan clarified that the 17-year-old “was not the one who used the taser” but nonetheless sentenced him to eight months in detention for his part in the incident.
