A north-east housing service has been praised by the Care Inspectorate for the support it provides to disabled people.
In the report, following an unannounced inspection of Real Life Options in Fraserburgh, the organisation was rated from good to very good in various categories.
At the time of the assessment, 15 people were using the disability support service.
Officers found that Real Life Options did very well at ensuring people had appropriate personal plans and cited the regular feedback and involvement of staff as being pivotal to this initiative.
It stated: “One person’s description of what they felt like when experiencing a seizure was a particularly good way to give staff the information they needed to support people.
“This support improved people’s lives. For example, staff were quick to respond when one person raised a concern about their living environment.
“This led to staff helping them make their home more comfortable, which in turn made them happier.”
One recommendation was made for the manager of the facility to ensure all staff clarified their expenses to improve the accounting of people’s money.
