The festivities began shortly after 9pm, when musicians took to the stage at Schoolhill and performed until midnight. Crowds soon gathered and the street was full to the brim with people of all ages counting down to the New Year. Pictured is (from left) Savvina Diminstoy, Goergia McInnes and Amanda Szo-dy. The first to perform at the event were local musicians Rachael Bisset and Scott Mellis, followed by Celtic rock band Gleadhraich. Before the final countdown to midnight, ABBA cover band Thank You For The Music drummed up even more excitement in the waiting revellers. The colourful firework display soon lit up the skies, before the event came to a close around ten minutes later. Kevin and Pam Weir with son Arran 9. Others celebrating the New Year in Aberdeen enjoyed a traditional ceilidh at the beach ballroom. The Matthew Maclennan Scottish Dance Band played from 7.30pm at the iconic venue.
