Staff at Grandholm Care Home - Jane Rosendale, Margaret Thomson, Carol Douglas, Val Buchan, Richard Duthie, Leah McGill, Alison Keepax and Antony Varghese
Staff at an Aberdeen care home have been praised for their fast work in improving the lives of residents.
Grandholm in Bridge of Don, Aberdeen, has upped its Care Inspectorate rating from ‘Adequate’ to ‘Good ‘in the space of just eight months.
It had previously been categorised as ‘Weak’ in a number of areas.
Following the initial inspection, the home’s owner, Holmes Care Group, drew up an improvement plan and appointed a new service manager to make the necessary changes.
During their latest visit, inspectors noted that the “management team had brought considerable experience and showed commitment to continuing improving the quality of life for the residents living in the home”.
Service manager Val Buchan said: “This rating is excellent news.
“The turn-around has been a team effort and is testament to the hard work of the staff team and their commitment to delivering the best care for residents.
“I look forward to continuing to lead the team to build upon this success and make Grandholm the best care home it can be.”
