Aberdeen South MP Ross Thomson has been criticised for posting a tweet comparing the SNP to muppets and Nicola Sturgeon to Miss Piggy.
On the day that Ms Sturgeon came to London for the Theresa May “no confidence” vote, the Brexiteer Tory tweeted a photograph of the first minister at Westminster surrounded by SNP colleagues.
Beneath the image, Mr Thomson had put a picture of Ms Piggy surrounded by characters from the Muppet Show including Kermit the Frog and Fozzie Bear.

He captioned the tweet with a quote from Kermit the Frog: “Just because you haven’t found your talent yet…doesn’t mean you don’t have one. #muppets #SNP.”
A SNP spokesman said: “As ever with this muppet, people are laughing at him not with him.
“Ross Thomson’s Brexit outbursts become ever more shrill and embarrassing – even his own Tory colleagues are distancing themselves from his cringeworthy antics.”
Mr Thomson replied: “The SNP are the first to deploy such tactics, this simply shows that they can dish it out but cannot take it.
“It is double standards and they are clearly lacking a sense of humour.”
