The coastguard was alerted to the possibility of a person in difficulty in Aberdour Bay, near New Aberdour, at around 2.10pm. Fraserburgh’s lifeboat and coastguard team, and the coastguard rescue team from Banff, investigated but found nothing and were later stood down.
