A major consultation is to begin on future development plans for Aberdeen.
The Aberdeen Local Development Plan (LDP) provides a land use framework – including potential housing sites.
A 10-week consultation will now begin in late February with a provisional plan expected in 2020.
Capital committee convener Councillor Marie Boulton said: “We want to give the community and the development industry plenty of time respond to the report, which sets out potential new policies as well as proposals for new development.”
Developers and landowners submitted 146 development bids for the sites in the report.
The report will be published on the council website in the coming weeks and copies made available in all the city’s libraries and at Marischal College.
A total of 15 “preferred options” for housing have been identified including the former Cordyce school and Woodend hospital.
During yesterday’s capital committee meeting, Airyhall, Broomhill and Garthdee councillor Ian Yuill moved that Garthdee Road should be removed as one of the preferred sites.
But he was defeated by eight votes to one in the vote.
