One person was rescued from their vehicle tonight after a three-vehicle-crash in Aberdeenshire.
Both lanes between the Lyne of Skene and Kirkton of Skene, on the A944, are still closed as police work to clear the road.
Police have confirmed that a 46-year-old male and a 60-year-old female have been taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with serious injuries.
A 71-year-old driver has escaped with minor injuries.
Police also confirmed that it had “eight or nine” units on the scene.
Two fire engines, sent from North Anderson Drive, were also sent to assist police during the incident.
Upon arrival, a team of firefighters worked to rescue a driver from one of the car’s involved, using cutting gear equipment.
A fire spokesman said: “We got the call to mobilise at 5.54pm, and arrived at the scene just over ten minutes later.
“We left the scene at 7pm, after freeing one motorist from their vehicle.”
