A popular north-east barmaid has called last orders on a career spanning more than two decades.
After 24 years of loyal service Trish Mctavish retired from her position as manager at the Tolbooth Bar in Ellon.
The Ayrshire born 65-year-old was met by grateful regulars who presented her with leaving gifts.
Owner of the bar, Martin Smith, said: “Trish has been a wonderful asset to the Tolbooth. She has been loyal, reliable and totally trustworthy and just great with customers.
“She will be sorely missed by myself, my wife Kerry and the rest of the staff. I wish her great happiness in what I hope will be a long and happy retirement.”
Jack Nixon a regular at the Tolbooth since it opened in 1992 agreed with the landlord and added: “Trish has become a fixture at the best pub in the town.
“She always has a welcoming smile and a kind word for all her customers and has also proved to be extremely discreet which is greatly appreciated!
She took a lot of pride in training young staff who will have learnt much from her patient and thorough way of running the establishment.”
“She will be hard to replace.”
