Turriff Academy was forced to close its doors for the day following the failure. Engineers were called to the Victoria Terrace secondary and have since fixed the heating system. A spokesman for Aberdeenshire Council confirmed it will reopen on Monday. He said: “There was a heating failure at Turriff Academy earlier on Friday, January 25. “In light of this, a decision was taken to close the school. “Engineers have now fixed the problem. It is anticipated that the school will reopen on Monday, January 28 as usual.”
