An ambitious new city council report has set out the authority’s aims to reduce poverty in the city.
The refreshed Aberdeen City Local Outcome Improvement Plan (LOIP) for 2016-26 was endorsed by the strategic commissioning committee yesterday.
Particular attention will be paid to children in care, young offenders, children of offenders and those living in poverty.
The authority’s co-leader Jenny Laing said: “The endorsement of the refreshed Local Outcome Improvement Plan highlights Aberdeen City Council’s continued commitment to the delivery of the shared vision of Aberdeen as a place where all people can prosper.
“The new LOIP is more ambitious, but these aspirations are achievable through partners working together to take an early intervention and preventative approach to tackle key issues.
“Our focus is on creating opportunities for all citizens in Aberdeen to flourish and thrive – particularly our most disadvantaged families and communities.”
The refreshed plan will now be considered for approval by the Community Planning Aberdeen Board on February 26.
