A Fraserburgh man caught with nearly £300 worth of drugs has been fined.
Ewen Taylor was found with two-and-a-half grams of heroin at an address on the port’s Arisaig Drive on November 28 last year.
Taylor, 53, of West Road, appeared at Peterhead Sheriff Court yesterday to plead guilty to being in possession of a controlled drug.
The court was told the class A substance recovered had a street value of around £280.
His plea of not guilty to being in possession of cocaine was accepted by the Crown.
Defence agent Sam Milligan said Taylor had been struggling with drug addiction issues and had been on a prescription for methadone as part of his treatment.
He said the prescription had run out, prompting his client to turn to illicit drugs.
Mr Milligan said: “He has been dealing with this chronic problem by way of medication.
“It was this ongoing problem that led him to procure the items listed.”
