A fundraiser is preparing to cycle the length of the UK – for the second time – for a charity close to his heart.
Fraser Beattie cycled from Land’s End to John O’Groats for Epilepsy Scotland in 2017.
Now the 37-year-old has decided to undertake the challenge once more, but in the opposite direction, to raise even more money for the charity.

Mr Beattie’s foray into charity cycling began after being diagnosed with epilepsy in March 2014 following a grand mal seizure outside his home in Inverurie.
Determined to do something to raise awareness of the condition, and help others, he decided to cycle from Land’s End to John O’Groats – raising £2,557.11.
This time round, Mr Beattie will set off from John O’Groats on July 20 and head down to Land’s End.
He said: “I think the decision to do the ride again is basically because the last one went to well.
Mr Beattie has not experienced a seizure since 2014 – and is confident he won’t be hampered by his condition on his second mammoth cycle.
He also is preparing with an elevation training mask used to regulate breathing and improve cardio.
He said: “Epilepsy is more than just fits.
“I’ve experienced anxiety and depression along with stress and fears of other seizures. Many people have this condition and have it a lot, lot worse than me.
“I want to show people that having epilepsy doesn’t mean you have to stop living and that you can still achieve what you put your mind to.
“There are many things I can’t do because of epilepsy but cycling the length of the UK isn’t one of them.”
