Two men have appeared in court charged with breaking into an Aberdeen property and stealing a car following the alleged theft of a BMW.
Lee Paterson, 29, and 30-year-old David Forrester were arrested after the grey BMW 1 series was allegedly stolen from a home on Raeburn Place between Monday night and Tuesday morning.
Both appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court yesterday.
Gray has been accused of theft by housebreaking, theft of a motor vehicle, theft and attempting to defeat the ends of justice.
Paterson faces the same four charges, but has additionally been accused of breaking a condition of his bail, driving while disqualified and without insurance, failing to stop the car when asked to by police and driving dangerously.
Paterson’s address was given only as Aberdeen, while Forrester was described as being of no fixed abode.
Both men entered no plea, were remanded in custody and are expected to appear in the dock again in the next eight days.
Detective Sergeant Andy Machray said : “We are committed to tackling acquisitive crime in the north-east.”
He encouraged anyone who becomes aware of suspicious activity “at any time of the day” to alert the force by calling 101.
