Police are investigating after a man approached two young girls and told them to get in his car.
The silver Ford Ranger pulled up to the girls, aged seven and nine, on Edzell High Street, near the petrol station on Monday.
The girls ran off, and the incident reported to the police.
Officers have identified the car on CCTV and are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.

One of the girls’ parents told the Press and Journal she had gone to meet the pair, as arranged, at the paper shop.
She said: “They said that just a minute or so before I arrived, a car pulled over next to them and the driver, a man, said ‘you’re coming with me’.
“They then ran off, and when I met them shortly after they were quite shaken.
“As a parent, it feels quite daunting.
“All the other parents of children at the school have been made aware, and the teachers are talking to the pupils about Stranger Danger.”
PC Richard Price said: “Police are investigating an incident that took place in Edzell High Street, near to the petrol station, about 4.30pm on Monday.
“Two girls, aged seven and nine, were spoken to by a man driving a silver pick-up, causing them alarm.
“Inquiries are currently ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident.”
