A 21-year-old man who assaulted police officers on their busiest night of the year has been condemned by his own lawyer for his “absolutely disgraceful” conduct.
Police intervened in the early hours of New Year’s Day when they saw Felix Mills “nipping” his partner, Caitlin Wilson, and “butting her on the head” on Langstane Place in Aberdeen.
Mills reacted by attempting to punch one officer, “struggling violently” with another, assaulting one female officer by “repeatedly biting her leg”, biting another on the hand and arm and spitting on a male officer and biting his hand.

The accused, of Irvine Place in Aberdeen, admitted five charges of assault, one of resisting arrest and one of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner when he appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court last month.
When he returned for sentencing yesterday his lawyer, Mike Munro, said that his client’s behaviour was “absolutely disgraceful” as it occurred on a night when officers are especially in demand.
Mr Munro said: “The police did not deserve to be treated in this way, with various assaults against them.
“In the cold light of day, the accused was mortified when I brought the catalogue of charges to his attention and he has now made arrangements to see a psychologist.”
Sheriff Ian Wallace ordered Mills to remain under supervision for 12 months and to perform 120 hours of unpaid work.
