Motorists will face major disruption when a north-east road closes for almost a month for landscaping work.
Aberdeenshire Council has announced that a section of the B976 South Deeside road closes for 28 days from Monday.
The authority’s roads teams will be carrying out embankment work along a small section of the route between Letterbeg and Castlehill while this is ongoing.

The closure means that drivers will have to take a seven-mile detour in order to get to either side of the works.
The council posted an update on the internet which states: “A stretch of the B976 between Letterbeg and Castlehill, Strachan will be closed for 28 days from Monday, March 11 to carry out embankment works.
“Site notices will indicate the closure and the alternative route via: B976 Letterbeg – B974 Strachan, B974 – C17M at the private telephone box, C17M – B976 Whitestone and vice versa.
“Emergency and pedestrian access will be maintained. Vehicle access to affected properties will be maintained wherever possible.”
It is the second piece of traffic disruption to be announced for motorists travelling through the Deeside area in a matter of days.
Engineers enforced an emergency closure on Park Bridge at Drumoak last month after defects were spotted during a routine inspection.
The bridge carries the C35K road over the River Dee and is a commonly used route for motorists switching between the south and north Deeside roads.
On Monday Aberdeenshire Council has confirmed the road could be shut until autumn next year to allow repairs to be carried out on it.
Motorists will now have to make an eight-mile round trip to cross the river farther upstream at Durris Bridge, near Crathes.
Cyclists and pedestrians will be able to use the bridge for the time being, the authority has said.
