VIDEO: Witness appeal following A90 fatal crash

Police are appealing for witnesses following yesterday’s multiple fatal crash on the A90 – which has now reopened.

Three people – two men and a woman – were killed and four seriously hurt in the horrific crash last night.

Investigations into the crash, which happened on the A90 Aberdeen to Dundee road at Glenbervie, are still ongoing after three people are confirmed to have died – all three are believed to be foreign nationals.

The road has now fully reopened following a 21 hour closure following the crash.

The collision happened at around 4.30pm yesterday and involved three vehicles, a red Renault Megane Scenic, a silver Ford B Max, and a City Link bus.

The three deceased were all travelling as passengers in the Megane along with the male driver and another female passenger who were airlifted to the ARI – the man having sustained minor injuries and the woman having serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.

The City Link bus was carrying a number of passengers plus the driver. None of the passengers were injured and the male bus driver sustained only minor injuries.

The two occupants of the silver Ford B Max were a man and a woman and they were also taken to Aberdeen Royal infirmary. Their injuries have been described as not life threatening.

Road Policing Chief Inspector Stewart Mackie said: “Collision Investigators have been working throughout the night and we are hoping to open the A90 to traffic early this afternoon.

Air ambulance on site of the crash

“I realise this will have created significant travel disruption to travellers and so I would like to thank them for their patience whilst we dealt with and continue to investigate this tragic incident.

“This would have been a difficult and harrowing scene for those who witnessed the collision and tried to offer assistance. I would like to express my gratitude for their efforts and to also thank the emergency services who dealt with this extremely challenging incident.

“My thoughts remain with everyone affected by this.

“If anyone witnessed the incident and hasn’t already spoken to the police I would ask that they contact officers on 101 using reference number 2576 of 12 March. “
