Lifeboat crews were toasted at a north-east bar as charity funds were handed over.
The Craft Bar in Pitmedden was the venue for the small ceremony when funds raised for the RNLI were given over on Friday.
Terry McNeill, a local volunteer for the RNLI had approached bar owner and local councillor Paul Johnston to support the charity.
The Craft Bar, a popular cask ale, craft beer and gin venue, has raised funds since it opened more than a year ago.
Mr McNeill, a keen yachtsman, was surprised by the celebration of the bar’s winter fundraising efforts which included creating gin bottle lights.
The bar has been making and selling the lights to upcycle bottles with several dozen sold for RNLI funds.
Mr Johnston said: “I surprised Terry with the Spey Valley Brewery beer “Sailor Terry”- a big rich orange stout as a thank you for helping us raise the funds and for the work we know he does for the RNLI.
“A fun reward to round off the effort.”
Mr McNeill said: “The Craft Bar and their customers are generous supporters of the RNLI.
“Their bright idea of upcycling craft gin bottles to make decorative lights has been a really creative fundraiser.”
