A north-east school could soon have a dramatic expansion.
The council wants to add an extension onto the music department at Fraserburgh Academy.
It is proposed that a purpose-built drama studio is added on to the Dennyduff Road building.
Detailed drawings outline what the expansion would look like once it was completed.
The dedicated drama studio would include a stage, sound booth with a lighting and sound control desk and a props store with shelving and hanging rails.
It would be connected to the main school building by a corridor running between two existing music practice rooms.

Drama and art classes currently take place in another building across the road from the main school campus.
Planning documents lodged by Aberdeenshire Council’s architectural technologist Owen Forsyth said the development would mean drama classes would no longer take place at this annex.
He said: “The proposal is to construct a purpose built extension for the drama department which is currently taught from a separate annex site.
“The extension would consist of a drama studio and associated functional spaces sited directly on to the music and drama department.
“There would be no change of use, this would be an educational facility.”
Former Fraserburgh Academy teacher Charles Buchan, who is now a councillor, said the extension would be a good move for the education of the school’s pupils.
He said using the annex for some classes had been an issue for a while.
Mr Buchan said: “The academy has always had a problem with the split site.
“The annex is not suitable for 21st century schooling.
“The council has done well to find the money for this project in order to accommodate it.
“I’m sure the pupils will be pleased with this as well.”
Earlier this year council chiefs were forced to shell out almost £3,500 to fix windows at Fraserburgh Academy after they were targeted by vandals.
The school was opened in 1909 and has 1,100 pupils.
