Two Aberdeen dancers are preparing to travel to France later this month for a unique project.
Melissa Heywood, 18, and Jemma Stein, 21, will head to Marseille as part of the National Youth Dance Company of Scotland to work with French troupe Group Grenade.
The two groups will spend a week working on a piece which will then be performed at KLAP House for Dance in Marseille on April 9.
National Youth Dance Company of Scotland (NYDCS) will also perform their own piece of work For Those Who Wait, choreographed by YDance artistic director Anna Kenrick.
She said the two dancers had gone through arduous auditions to be selected for one of the 12 places on the project.
She added: “Not only does it show other parts of the world the dance talent Scotland has and the quality of the youth dance sector, it exposes the dancers to a range of teachers, techniques and styles of work and develops them as a dancer, creator and artist.”
