McDonald’s has submitted plans to open its first restaurant in Fraserburgh, which could provide a major jobs boost.
The fast food company has lodged proposals for the new restaurant on the port’s Watermill Road.
Its proposed drive-through would be built next to the Asda supermarket and the company said it could create up to 65 new jobs.
Three separate planning applications have been submitted by Planware Ltd on behalf of McDonald’s.
Drawings show what the restaurant would look like with two drive-through order stations, a digital menu board, a play area and a car park with 10 spaces.
A company spokeswoman confirmed details of the proposed Fraserburgh venture. She said: “We can confirm that we have submitted an application for a new drive-through restaurant in Fraserburgh which would create at least 65 jobs in the area.
“We are excited to be progressing with this opportunity and the significant investment it could bring to the local community.”
